Fine Lines & Wrinkles in Burswood
Not every line needs treating, and not every line is the same. At Eila in Burswood, a wrinkle consultation starts with a registered nurse watching your face at rest and in movement. Then she tells you straight which lines are worth treating, which can wait and which to leave alone.

Lines at rest, lines in movement.
Some lines only show when your face moves: a frown, a squint, a raised brow. Others are there when your face is still. They come from different things, so they are treated differently.
Lines that come with movement sit mostly in the upper face: across the forehead, between the brows and at the outer corners of the eyes. Lines that stay belong to the skin itself: years of sun, dryness, and less collagen than it used to make.
So we look first. Your plan might be a lines and movement appointment. It might be work on the skin itself, with skin needling or skin rejuvenation. It might be both, in an order that makes sense. Sometimes it is a better sunscreen and a review in six months.
Sun is the biggest thing your skin keeps a record of, and the one you can still change. Smoking, short sleep and not enough water show up too. We ask about all of it, because the lines sit in your skin, and the skin is part of the plan.
A lines and movement plan is built to keep your expression. We would rather do less and look again at your review than do too much.
Lines around the mouth, on the neck and across the chest often belong to the skin itself. For those, the conversation turns to sunscreen, skin needling or skin rejuvenation, and sometimes to leaving them be.

Risks and recovery.
Every cosmetic treatment carries risk. Bruising, swelling, redness and tenderness are common and usually settle within days. Less often, a result can be uneven or need adjusting at your review. Serious complications are rare, and your practitioner explains the ones that apply to your plan, the signs to watch for and who to call, before you decide. Having nothing done is always one of the options.

What is the difference between fine lines and wrinkles? +
Fine lines are shallow and often show first around the eyes and mouth. Wrinkles are deeper creases. Either can appear only with movement or stay when the face is at rest.
Do I have to treat every line? +
No. We will tell you which are worth treating, which can wait and which we would leave alone. A plan can be one area.
Will my face still move? +
We plan to keep your natural expression. How much movement you keep is part of the conversation, and results vary from person to person.
At what age should I start? +
There is no right age, and you need to be 18 or over. Lines are a normal part of a face. Come in when one bothers you, not because someone said it was time.
Who should not book? +
Anyone pregnant or breastfeeding. At your consultation, tell us about your health, your medicines and any past reaction to a cosmetic treatment. Some of these mean we wait. Some mean we say no.
What should I do before my appointment? +
Tell us about everything you take, supplements included. Fish oil, vitamin E, ginkgo and some pain relievers can make bruising more likely. Ask your doctor before you stop anything prescribed, and keep alcohol light the day before.
What happens straight after? +
Small raised marks can show for a short while and usually settle within the hour. Don’t rub or massage the area that day, and skip the gym, the sauna and hot yoga until the next day.
Can lines and skin treatments be combined? +
Often, in an order. The lines first and the skin after, or the other way round. We set the sequence at your consultation, so two treatments never land on the same area in the same week.
What sunscreen should I wear? +
A broad-spectrum SPF50+ every morning, reapplied every two hours when you are outdoors. Australian sun makes it the one step not to skip.
